The purpose of this position is to facilitate the FASD Network's family programming, an 8 week program consisting of weekly workshops.

This job incumbent reports to the Programming Coordinator and the Training Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Family Programming
Collaborate with the program development team to complete the development and launch of the family programming
Assist in the promotion of the programming and recruitment of families to participate
Prepare required supplies and material for program launch
Facilitate weekly evening workshops
Provide guidance to staff assisting with the facilitation of workshops
Cultivate strong relationships with families accessing the programming
Work in collaboration with the Administrative Assistant to organize workshops and required materials on a weekly basis
Continue planning for following program sessions (each session will be 8 weeks in duration)
Oversee the strategic direction and operation of the family programming
Assist the Programming Coordinator and Finance Director in monitoring the program budget
Monitor program quality through regular assessments and evaluations
Case Management
Provide one-on-one support to the families accessing programming. Services include:
-Developing support plans
-Expanding on topics covered in programming workshops
-Providing education around FASD
-Attending meetings and appointments with families as needed
implementing appropriate strategies and accommodations that will increase the chances for success in the home, community, school or workplace
Make referrals to services providers
Assist families in accessing the assessment and diagnostic services available
Provide advocacy on behalf of families to ensure appropriate service provision
Assist with Caregiver, Peer or Youth Support Meetings as needed
Process intake paperwork and complete case notes as families access case management services
Additional Responsibilities
Complete programming and case management reporting as directed
Provide assistance with all special projects undertaken by the organization
Respond to calls on the toll-free line- make referrals and take action as necessary.
When requested, deliver educational presentations and group training on behalf of the Network.
Other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director, Finance and Marketing Director, Manager of the Support Program, or Programming Coordinator.
Other Requirements
Must be able to work evenings and weekends as the position requires
Travel may be expected, including overnights
Must have access to a vehicle
Qualifications:
Related education such as Social Work, Education, or Program Development
1-2 years of experience working with families who have a member living with a cognitive disability
Knowledge of FASD is an asset
Ability to use various computer programs including Microsoft and Google Suite.
Understanding of and/or Experience with Trauma
Ability to Work Independently and with a Team
