Position Overview



As a Refrigeration Technician, you'll oversee installations, service work, and maintenance across residential and commercial projects. You'll ensure jobs meet specifications, stay on schedule, and reflect the high standards our clients expect.

This role involves both hands-on technical work and leadership. You'll coordinate with field staff, the administration team, clients and contractors, and help shape the growth of our mechanical and refrigeration division.

Core Responsibilities



Scheduling: Develop short- and long-term schedules. Team Coordination: Assign daily and weekly tasks to technicians, apprentices, and subcontractors. Site Management: Maintain well-organized, safe, and efficient job sites. Documentation: Review drawings, verify scopes, and submit RFIs or change requests as needed. Health & Safety: Enforce all safety policies and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards. Quality Assurance: Oversee testing, commissioning, and QA/QC procedures for all installations. Resource Management: Plan and manage materials, tools, and equipment orders. Subcontractor Oversight: Coordinate and review work performed by subcontracted trades. Client Communication: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction throughout each project. Reporting: Track progress and costs, providing updates and adjustments as required. Other Duties: Support the needs of the team while maintaining Primera's high standards of professionalism and workmanship.

Skills & Requirements



Proven leadership and interpersonal skills Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities Ability to multitask and remain detail-oriented under pressure Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Skilled in interpreting mechanical drawings, specifications, and construction documents Proficient with modern tools and technology, including Google Workspace Demonstrated experience leading mechanical or refrigeration crews A positive, team-focused attitude and commitment to craftsmanship

Education & Experience



Experience: Minimum 10+ years in the construction or refrigeration industry Certification: Red Seal Refrigeration required Technology Proficiency: Comfortable with Google Workspaceindeiiii

Position Details



Job Type: Full-time (8:00 am - 4:30 pm) Pay: $62.00 - $66.00 per hour Hours: 40 per week with occasional overtime Additional Pay: Bonus pay, profit sharing, overtime Benefits: Company events On-site parking RRSP match after 6 continuous months of employment Medical benefits may be available after 3 continuous months of employment Company vehicle and gas card for work-related travel Career advancement and leadership development opportunities Work Location: Greater Victoria & Southern Vancouver Island Expected Start Date: November 2025
