PROPAK ENERGY SERVICES is a proven established leader in engineering, fabrication, construction, and servicing of gas compression and processing facilities for the energy industry. We are currently seeking a Refrigeration Mechanic experienced in the gas processing industry. This position will also perform process plant start-ups, mechanical overhauls, and refrigerant reclaiming. Both Apprentice and Journeyman levels are welcomed.

Key Responsibilities:

• General knowledge pertaining to start-up and operation of Petrochemical Process Plants
• Observe and test system operation, using gauges and instruments.
• Adjust valves according to specifications and charge system with proper type of refrigerant by pumping the specified gas or fluid into the system.
• Test lines, components, and connections for leaks.
• Dismantle malfunctioning systems and test components.
• Adjust or replace worn or defective mechanisms and parts, and reassemble repaired systems.
• Perform mechanical overhauls and refrigerant reclaiming.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications.
• Keep records of repairs and replacements made and causes of malfunctions.

Qualifications:

• Excellent administration, communication and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
• Ability to work in independently with limited supervision
• Customer service skills
• Ability to work extended hours
• As a condition of employment, employees are required, upon hire, to sign a Drug-Free Workplace Agreement, a Conflict of Interest Agreement and Confidentiality and Invention Agreement.

Apprentice Level:

• Be eligible for registration as a registered apprentice; or
• Be a registered apprentice.

Journeyman Level:

• Hold a valid recognized Alberta Journeyperson Trade Certificate or a recognized trade certificate or equivalency document.
• Inter-Provincial Red Seal Certificate is preferred.
• 3+ years of directly related work experience.
• This position may be required to direct, coach, and mentor apprentices.
