Redimix Driver

PLP Redimix Ltd. provides ready-mix concrete to commercial, municipal, and residential customers across the GTA and Durham region. PLP Redimix is a division of Powerline Plus Ltd. providing full-service, diversified ready-mix concrete services to commercial, residential, agricultural and industrial customers in the GTA. Our industry-leading, state-of-the art facilities can help deliver concrete of varied styles, strength and grades depending on the desired application.

Overview

The Redimix Drivers play a critical role in the productivity and efficiency of operations at PLP Redimix Ltd. and its facilities. The Redimix Drivers play many critical roles including but not limited to; performing equipment safety checks, positioning loader in place, climbing onto truck to check for load reediness, performing concrete slump test, driving cement truck to various job sites, cleaning truck and equipment before and after delivery to ensure safety operation.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

Completion of Secondary School Diploma or Equivalent Completion of an accredited driver training course Valid 'AZ' Driver's License with clean driver's abstract required Minimum two (2) years' experience safely operating various types of heavy equipment Ability to safely operate loading equipment Must display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times Must be able to work outdoors in adverse conditions such as: heat exposure, cold temperatures, rain, snow etc. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position: ability to lift a maximum of 50 pounds, walking, kneeling, squatting, and climbing onto a truck to check loads. Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends when necessary Strict adherence to all industry related safety legislation as well as company specific safety policies/procedures Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers and supervisors with other duties as required

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Ability to operate various pieces of heavy equipment, depending on the job site, accurately, efficiently and safely Safely drive cement truck to various sites for delivery Must be able to assist in the event of equipment breakdown Perform daily equipment safety checks Perform concrete slump test Clean up PLP Redimix plant and surrounding yard/facilities
