Primary Responsibilities Include:
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs to vehicles to ensure the equipment is available, reliable, and safe to operate
Perform diagnosis of engine, break, electrical components on vehicles using various diagnostic tools
Maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and equipment
Installation of new and added on equipment
Review and complete repairs identified in Inspection Reports
Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques
May weld and cut parts using arc-welding and flame cutting equipment
Perform in a team environment with minimal supervision
Performing other duties as require
Requirements:
NB Truck & Transport Mechanic License/Red Seal Mechanic Certification
Possess and maintain a valid Driver's License
1-3 years of experience in a Mechanic role required; transportation industry preferred
Communication skills both verbally and in writing
Basic Computer knowledge in MS Office and maintenance software programs, an asset
An understanding of government and transportation legislation, policies, and procedures
Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
A desire and passion to continuously learn new things
