About the Opportunity BCCA is seeking a Recruitment Support Specialist to join our team on a hybrid or remote work model anywhere in BC.
This is a contract tenure (contract end date: March 2024) with a potential for renewal, to mainly support the BuilersLifeBC.ca campaign (BCCA Apprenticeship Services).
Supporting the Lead Recruitment Support Specialist, your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Employer hiring support
  • Maintaining contact and communication with employers through email, phone, and in-person to ensure the quality of the hiring support.
  • Hosting, facilitating, or attending meetings and events, such as employer information sessions, job fairs, conferences etc.
  • Developing and distributing ongoing messaging to employers and talent pool
  • Helping employers with their job description and provide relevant labor market information.
  • Screening and evaluating candidates to match employer\xe2\x80\x99s hiring needs.

Job seeker communication
  • Responding to job seekers\' calls and emails promptly and efficiently.
  • Identifying opportunities or providing useful information to job seekers to keep them engaged and active.
  • Inviting job seekers to attend related events.

Cross program communication
  • Managing incoming emails and calls and transferring/forwarding inquiries to appropriate person as required
  • Answering any program related questions to internal and external stakeholders
  • Identifying opportunities to refer jobseekers to other BCCA programs and external resources
  • Developing and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of programs, eligibility, and contract goals
  • Collaborating with various BCCA program and department leads to ensure all goals are aligned

Data update and analysis
  • Updating and maintaining databases to ensure that all communication records are organized and up to date.
  • Performing analysis on files, reports, and databases to update information and ensure data integrity.
  • Managing and interpreting data from recruitment source (e.g. databases, spreadsheets, statistical reporting) and make recommendations

About You To qualify, you will need proven years of experience in construction-related recruitment/employment, career counselling, and/or human resources.
Skills, experience, and background in the following will be highly valued for this role:
  • Work experience as a recruiter in the recruitment agency
  • Exceptional communication skills as well as excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Work experience in a similar talent management role
  • Excellent relationship building ability with stakeholders , employers, and other programs.
  • Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and Teams)
  • Presentation skills
  • HubSpot/CRM familiarity
  • WorkBC or other government employment programs (asset)
  • Construction and/or trades training and apprenticeship programs in BC
  • Project Management and/or some leadership experience
  • Client-facing consulting and relationship-building
  • Applicant Tracking System (ATS) software
  • Red Seal license in an accredited trades program (asset)
