JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Recruitment Innovation Manager

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Recruitment & Onboarding, the Recruitment Innovation Manager is accountable for driving critical projects from concept through to product development and business analytics for predicting and improving performance of the recruitment and onboarding processes. The Recruitment Innovation Manager provides project management services for both project and operational activities for various Recruitment & Onboarding technology and business transformation projects. Working with cross functional project teams, including both technical and business stakeholders, the Recruitment Innovation Manager is responsible for the coordination, documentation, planning, communication, assessment, and ongoing review of technology and business transformation projects. This includes leveraging insights and data that will be key to shaping recruitment strategies and various change initiatives for existing recruitment and onboarding processes as well as system enhancements, new recruitment and onboarding systems and technologies. In addition to managing recruitment innovation projects the role will include supervising staff that are accountable to execute recruitment project activities.

The Recruitment Innovation Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of Recruitment & Onboarding projects, including the initiation, planning, and execution phases; coordinating project tasks, stakeholders, and budget, while following project management principles and best practices. The Recruitment Innovation Manager is responsible for aligning project deliverables to the business case assessments, ensuring that the assessment objectives, solution/scope, resource requirements, budgeting etc. for both project and transition to operations are tracked and monitored to maintain close alignment with the business case assessment. The Recruitment Innovation Manager will ensure appropriate controls are put in place to ensure project outcomes and objectives can be measured post-project.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support projects within the Recruitment & Onboarding department that are designed to review, build and/or enhance recruitment and onboarding programs, processes and services, ensuring that current recruitment and onboarding theory and best practice are applied, and to support effective and timely project completion and implementation.
  • Lead projects within the Recruitment & Onboarding department that are designed to review and enhance the talent acquisition and onboarding processes and services, and that projects progress and are implemented in an effective manner within reasonable timeframes.
  • Create and manage project plans and related documentation in accordance with established project management methodology (Project Charter, Scope, WBS, Budget, Action Registers, etc.)
  • Effectively engage, lead and influence stakeholders on the planning and delivery of Recruitment & Onboarding projects with high level of quality and commitment to timeline and scope.
  • Develop processes and methodologies that bring a consistent and streamlined approach to the way in which OPG recruits, selects, and onboards workers.
  • Provide updates and simple but relevant metrics to the organization that will allow management to better improve time to hire and understand what is happening from a talent perspective.
  • Seek to improve work processes, cultivating an awareness of organizational changes that impact on the need to adapt methods and operations.
  • Develop cost benefit analyses to support strategic directions or decision making within the scope of the project.
  • Track corrective and improvement actions and provide progress reports to Senior Management.
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. Analyze, plan and develop project schedule including milestones and go-live schedule.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables.
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Draft and submit business cases including budget proposals, and recommend subsequent project changes where necessary.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated change plan and communications documents.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Deliver training through presentations, live training sessions, and supporting documentation.
  • Facilitate changes and adoption of compliance requirements that impact recruitment and onboarding processes.
  • Use analytical techniques, predictive modelling and forecasting to process large volumes of data from multiple sources into actionable opportunities

EDUCATION
  • University degree or college diploma with a technical, or business focus
  • Completed courses in business/process analysis or project management is required
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5 years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of business and process analysis
  • Demonstrated experience in developing project deliverables, reports, presentations and analysis using a variety of applications and tools is required (Microsoft, Visio, team dynamix etc)
  • Experience assessing and developing business cases/value propositions is required
  • Understanding of Change Management and Change Management principals
  • Experience in working with senior and executive leadership in Business organizations is required
  • Experience in managing project financials, vendor management, contracts, SOW and PO's is required.
  • Experience in planning, working on and/or leading transformation initiatives is required
  • Experience in developing and maintaining strategic planning roadmaps with strategic alignment is preferred
  • Experience working with an applicant tracking system which is engages at multiple phases of the recruitment process.
  • Knowledge of current recruitment processes including a variety of sourcing strategies, automated recruitment systems and social networking tools.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to demonstrate a high regard for customer service and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to drive and implement business process and cultural change to leverage the adoption of new processes and utilization of technology.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a flexible hybrid office environment.
