This full-time position based in Calgary is an instrumental part of the North American HR Operations team. Working closely with two Human Resources Advisors-Talent Acquisition, this role supports all functions relating to high-volume recruitment, ensuring that applicants, leaders, service providers and key stakeholders are engaged in a manner that drives efficient and effective outcomes. The entry-level Recruitment Coordinator must be a team player with the ability to deliver superior customer service. The individual must be able to work in a fluid environment while managing multiple priorities. An accurate eye and a keen sense for organization is key.

This position is based at the De Beers Calgary Support Centre located at the Calgary International Airport.

Key Responsibilities but not limited to:
  • Supporting and coordinating all aspects of the recruitment process including the preparation of job postings, advertising and promotion of positions on-line, screening resumes, pre-screening candidates, scheduling interviews, participation in interviews, references checks, onboarding activities, collecting paperwork and forms, responding to candidate queries and reporting;
  • Supporting the process for a range of operational, technical, professional and support positions throughout De Beers across Canada;
  • Maintaining applicant tracking system data management and shared drive data integrity;
  • Providing support to other areas of HR Recruitment as needed, such as project work and reporting;
  • Accelerate the placement of successful and qualified candidates in collaboration with hiring managers at the mine site;
  • Developing collaborative relationships with the hiring managers and HR Advisors to understand the end-to-end business strategy, needs and issues, site/location specific culture, hiring and approval process, compensation practices, internal equity, talent management and workforce planning;
  • Proactively identifying recurring process issues and making recommendations for improvements;
  • Supporting the achievement of De Beers diversity and community objectives, in particular with respect to Northern hires;
  • Problem solving where needed, providing excellent and timely customer service;
  • Working on other HR projects outside recruitment as needed and available.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in business administration, commerce, human resources or similar preferred;
  • Up to two years of relevant HR or recruitment related experience is ideal;
  • Experience and familiarity with Canadian mining operations or a similar industry with remote operations and Canadian geography, culture and environments preferred;
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems or large databases preferred;
  • Highly proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook);
  • Deadline focused, resourceful and results driven, with excellent written and verbal communications skills;
  • Ability to manage competing demands, and operate through self-direction, initiative and sense of urgency;
  • Team player with ability to deliver quality customer service internally and externally;
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, confidentiality and adapt to changing demands; and
  • A self-starter with the ability to work in a lean, fast-paced, dynamic work environment, currently in a hybrid work environment.
