Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.



We are currently seeking a Recruiting and Training Coordinator to join our team. This position requires an individual who will demonstrate a high level of responsibility and professionalism, with excellent communication and organizational skills. The individual must also have the ability to multi-task, work independently and adapt quickly in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

POSITION SUMMARY:


• Job type: Full-time permanent
• Anticipated start date: Immediate
• Salary: Offering a competitive salary based on experience
• Hours of work: 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday (hybrid work schedule)
• Location: 2947 Portland Drive, Oakville, Ontario




DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Review the training programs available for employees with the tools needed to deliver current services in a manner consistent with the Company's business objectives and the demands of the marketplace.
• Managing training.registration@commissionaires-cgl.ca inbox.
• Answering questions about upcoming trainings.
• Sending emails regarding upcoming trainings: notifications, reminders, change in location, change in date.
• Registering staff for upcoming trainings.
• Answering training related calls.
• Responding to phone calls inquiring about the Ontario Security Guard Course (OSGC).
• Calling staff to follow up on online training modules for Use of Force.
• Contacting trainers to confirm availability.
• Putting together a training calendar for upcoming FA/CPR and Use of Force classes.
• Creating Training Completion Numbers (TCN) for individuals who completed OSGC.
• Running reports for upcoming certification expirations.
• Uploading and documenting certificates to BHR.
• Create COMMGL email addresses.
• Administrative duties and recording keeping, which includes all candidate data and information.
• Coordinate CGSB/CQC, training dates, soliciting and scheduling the trainer.
• Ensure the production and issuance of all training certificates.
• Initiate the on and off boarding of staff.
• Audit the onboarding process to ensure compliance.
• In Conjunction with the Schedulers ensure that staff are scheduled for their initial shifts for the site they were hired for.
• Follow up with new hires, 30-90 days post hire.
• Assist with Recruiting efforts as the need arises.
• Conduct various training courses as the need arises.
• Other duties as may be assigned.




REQUIREMENTS:


• A Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Human Resources and/or related field of study.
• Must have a minimum of two (2) years experience in a high-volume environment.
• Proven relationship building skills.
• Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office Programs.
• General knowledge of various Employment laws and Best Practices.
• Excellent communications skills - both written and verbal are a must.
• Attention to detail and process oriented.
• Ability to work with various departments and foster teamwork.
• Ability to work independently without supervision.
• Skills in database management and record keeping.
• Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of recruiting/human resources work.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• A strong sense of urgency and dedication in meeting deadlines.
• Ability to operate in multitasking, sometimes stressful environment with changing and conflicting priorities.
• Flexibility in work hours as required to meet the demands of a recruiting and train deadline.
