About the Position

Overview of the Role

The Recruiter - Digital Engagement and Communications, supports Lethbridge College\'s enrollment goals by connecting with prospective students using digital tools and effective communications. As the point person on digital engagement tools (e.g., Custom Viewbook (CVB), virtual tours, and the future students web page) the incumbent is responsible for overseeing implementation, updates, usage, and reporting on the tools. By liaising with internal teams (such as marketing and web services) as well as communicating with external vendors, the incumbent will ensure the tools are providing critical engagement opportunities for our future learners and are delivering a strong return on investment for recruitment services. This position also oversees all prospective student communications. Using the customer relationship management system (e.g., Salesforce, MailChimp, Survey Monkey), the incumbent writes and delivers concise communications that are appropriate to the receiving audience including high school students, mature learners, influencers of students, and community partners.

Reporting to the Manager, Recruitment, Admissions and Articulation, this position works closely with other departments across the college, including Student Affairs, Marketing, and academic centres, to actively promote Lethbridge College and advance future students toward application. The incumbent applies strategic enrollment management principles to ensure that prospective students are progressing through the recruitment funnel. By creating opportunities for prospective students to engage with other stakeholders in the recruitment funnel (such as admission and academic centre staff) the incumbent will maximize the collaborative nature of recruitment services.

The Recruiter - Digital Engagement and Communications poses effective communication skills and is able adjust their writing style for diverse audiences. Their work centers on relationship building. Relationships with prospective students ensure that future students interpret Lethbridge College as a welcoming and friendly learning environment where they are comfortable asking questions and seeing themselves as learners here. Relationships with internal stakeholders are key, as recruitment services delivers communications on behalf of all our academic programs. This position involves working independently to accomplish tasks yet must be comfortable learning new tools, researching best practices, making recommendations supported by evidence and data, and is responsible for providing on-going updates to the manager or other college leadership representatives.

Position Details

Implementing, maintaining, and reporting for digital engagement tools, including but not limited to:

  • Liaising with Marketing in Web Services on implementation, updates, and website promotion of digital tools such as Custom ViewBook and Virtual Tour software
  • Evaluate data and track usage of digital tools to make recommendations to manager for future use
  • Research best practices on how stakeholders (future students, partents, high school staff, etc.) use the future students webpage and collaborate with Web Services on updates
  • CRM (Salesforce) -the incumbent is the CRM super-user for Recruitment Services and is responsible for data validation, data clean-up, and working with various stakeholders (e.g., RO Business Systems teams, Student Affairs, and CRM admin team) to ensure effective usage of the CRM and on-going evolution of the product
  • Social Media -in partnership with marketing, utilize social media to connect with and engage future students
Communications - to prospective students and influencers (high school staff, parents/guardians, etc.):
  • Updating and maintaining the prospective student communication plan to ensure the prospective student lead base is progressing toward applicant status
  • Writing concise communications curated for a diverse audience of future students paying particular attention to different demographic groups (i.e., high school students, mature learners, student influencers, etc.)
  • Analyzing the open, click, and read rates of communications to evaluate effective communication methods
  • Engaging with internal stakeholders, such as managers, program chairs, and associate deans, to capture their message to future students and to propose collaboration opportunities with recruitment communications
  • Use technology tools (CRM/Salesforce) efficiently to ensure communications are timely and consistent
  • Create newsletters to influencer audiences (i.e., parents, high school staff, community groups) that are informative and reflect Lethbridge College\'s commitment to our diverse community partners
Virtual Recruiting Events & On Campus Activity Support:
  • Seek out virtual recruitment opportunities, analyze costs (including registration fees, staff resources, etc.) and make recommendations to the manager for participation
  • Evaluating uptake from virtual recruitment opportunities and reporting on return on investment
  • Supporting on campus activities such as Student For A Day, Campus Tours, etc. when necessary
  • Some travel will be required
Reporting and Research:
  • On a weekly or monthly basis, gather data on digital recruitment and communication metrics to keep the manager abreast of usage, return on investment, and health of the prospective student base
  • Create written reports for dissemination to internal stakeholders such as the manager, program chairs, associate deans, and college leadership
  • Seek out best practices and innovative models of digital engagement and communication for implementation at Lethbridge College
  • Employ Strategic Enrollment Management principles to ensure prospective students are moving through the recruitment funnel toward application
  • Make suggestions to internal stakeholders (i.e., admissions, academic centres, leadership) for warm hand-off of students that are moving closer to, or have progressed to, applicant status
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-year diploma required, preferably in communications or media and public relations
  • Valid driver\'s license
  • Able to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Two years on the job experience in student recruitment or similar role
Preferred Qualifications
  • Customer service experience
  • Bachelor\'s degree preferred
Salary AUPE Class Level 9 Step 1 $49,180.45 per annum
