Position Summary




Reporting to the HR Manager, the Recruiter will take the lead on all recruitment activities and related functions. Key responsibilities include partnering with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, creating and posting job openings, conducting interviews, preparing employment contracts, and managing the end-to-end recruitment process.


The Recruiter will perform job analyses and define key competencies for each position. They will also provide guidance and coaching to hiring managers and supervisors on effective recruitment and selection strategies, supporting them throughout the entire hiring cycle.


Additionally, the Recruiter will offer expert advice to ensure recruitment practices align with HR standards, promote compliance, and support the successful implementation of talent acquisition programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:



Lead and manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, pre-screening interviews, scheduling and participating in interviews with hiring managers, conducting reference checks, and preparing employment offers. Partner with hiring managers to assess staffing requirements, define job responsibilities, and identify key competencies and skills for each role. Maintain ongoing communication with hiring managers to understand their recruitment preferences and provide tailored support throughout the hiring process. Develop and implement customized recruitment and interview plans for each open position. Conduct follow-up meetings with hiring managers to evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and make improvements as needed. Advise hiring managers on recruitment best practices, interview techniques, and candidate selection strategies. Represent the organization at job fairs and career events to support recruitment efforts and promote employer branding. Conduct check-ins with new hires to gather feedback on their onboarding experience and identify areas for improvement. Continuously assess and recommend enhancements to recruitment processes and procedures. Track and report on recruitment trends, metrics, and challenges. Oversee the Recruitment inbox, ensuring timely responses to all inquiries and job posting requests. Provide regular updates to stakeholders on the status of open positions and recruitment progress. Respond promptly to candidate inquiries and ensure professional communication with all applicants. Notify unsuccessful candidates respectfully via phone or written communication. Ensure accurate completion of new hire documentation and maintain up-to-date employee files. Support new hire orientation sessions as required. Assist in organizing and maintaining accurate HR records and files in accordance with data integrity standards and naming conventions. Provide clerical and technical assistance for HR programs and initiatives. Collaborate with the HR Manager on recruitment projects and other HR initiatives as needed. Serve as backup to the HR Coordinator when required. Perform other related duties as assigned to contribute to the success of the HR team and broader organizational goals.

Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and comfortable working with various digital tools and technologies. Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team. Able to understand, interpret, and apply company policies and procedures appropriately. Maintains a high level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.

Qualifications



Post-secondary studies in Human Resource Management (completed or in progress) is preferred. Previous experience in recruitment is preferred. Understanding of Alberta Employment Standards, Human Rights legislation, and general HR compliance practices. Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now is an asset. Working toward a CPHR designation is considered an advantage. Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
