The Recreationist provides rehabilitation and programming activities for those living in long term care and will also provide support to our Adult Day Program.

We're looking for a motivated, well-rounded individual who is committed to providing compassionate quality programming specifically geared to residents with dementia, and who is interested in researching and implementing new and innovative techniques and interventions.

This is a full-time (75 hours bi-weekly) position.

Qualifications:

A degree or diploma in Recreation Therapy; Recreation and Leisure Studies; Kinesiology; or Gerontology from a recognized University or College; or equivalent skills, knowledge, and experience. Experience in a health care setting Knowledge of Montessori based programs/activities for people with dementia is required. Knowledge of RAI MDS and Point Click Care will be required A clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record check Current CPR and First Aid accreditation A Class F Driver's License would be an asset Music and Gerontology courses an asset.
Preference will be given to those with experience in a long-term care setting. Some evening and weekend work is required.

Monday: 11:30pm-7:30pm

Tuesday: 11:30pm-7:30pm

Fri: 11:30pm-7:30pm

Monday: 11:30pm-7:30pm

Trinity Village Care Centre requires all new hires to submit proof of negative 2-step TB test and satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check prior to start date.
