About Mishka Social Services:

Mishka Social Services is a Hamilton-based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting newcomers, immigrants, refugees, and racialized communities by offering culturally responsive programs, food security services, a respite program for individuals with disabilities, and other community resources. This is a part-time contract position based in Hamilton, ON. The position offers an hourly rate of $17.20, with an expected workload of 8-16 hours per week.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Recreational Aide to support our respite program. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with individuals with disabilities, a passion for community service, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in planning and facilitating recreational, social, and leisure activities for program participants. Provide direct support and supervision to individuals with disabilities in a group setting. Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during activities. Support program setup, cleanup, and general organization. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth program delivery. Communicate effectively with participants, caregivers, and staff.

Qualifications:

Experience working with individuals with disabilities required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to engage participants in a variety of activities. Reliable, patient, and adaptable

Compensation:

$17.20/hour, paid biweekly

8-16 hours per week
