The Meadows of Aurora (www.tmoa.ca) is a one-of-a-kind Christian Adult Lifestyle Community located thirty minutes north of Toronto in the Town of Aurora. We offer 55+ adults three lifestyle choices - independent living, assisted living and memory care. Our resort style campus sits on 25 acres with over half protected forest. We change the way 55+ adults think about retirement living.

We are seeking a compassionate and proactive individual to join our team in

Assisted Living and Memory Care

, focusing on promoting the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being of our residents. The ideal candidate will build strong relationships, communicate effectively with staff, and assess and plan activities based on residents' interests and abilities.

Responsibilities:



Planning and implementing a variety of activities, outings, and events specifically tailored for Assisted Living and Memory Care residents, encouraging their participation. Assisting with the creation of a socially stimulating environment, including seasonal decorations and special events. Managing the activity calendar, newsletters, and ensuring effective communication with staff and families. Supervising students and volunteers, ensuring safety regulations are followed, and collaborating with different teams to meet residents' needs. Problem-solving, addressing concerns, and fostering a positive, engaging atmosphere for residents. Participating in family nights, open houses, and other community-building activities. Willingness to assist with evening and weekend programs as needed.

Qualifications:



Post-secondary diploma or degree in the social sciences, recreation, gerontology, or activation. Extensive computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel. Must have a cheerful, energetic, and calm demeanor with a positive attitude toward residents and staff. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be a self-starter with organizational skills, creative ideas, and a caring attitude toward maintaining the dignity and integrity of residents. A mature perspective on and appreciation for recent history, culture, the arts, and lifestyles of the current resident population. Comfort with the Christian philosophy of the community and the ability to assist in meeting the spiritual needs of residents. Creative and artistic skills in music, crafts, and photography are a benefit. Ability to develop rapport with seniors and enhance their quality of life.
A requirement for all individuals who work at The Meadows of Aurora and support our 55+ community include:

Proof of Covid-19 vaccination is required. Everyone at this location is required to follow proper hand hygiene and wear a mask. A two-step TB test that can be arranged through your family doctor or many pharmacies. A Vulnerable Sector Check that can be obtained through designated Police locations.

Schedule:



37.5 hours per week Rotation: Every third weekend Primarily day shifts, with an occasional evening shift (approximately one per month)
