Position
Champlain College Saint-Lambert is seeking the services of a RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES TECHNICIAN, to work on a full-time replacement position in the Student Services department. This is a maternity leave replacement.Functions
Reporting to the Director of Student Services and working in conjunction with the professional in Campus Life, the Recreational Activities Technician is responsible for the planning, organization and reviewing of campus life activities and programming. They will work in close collaboration with other members of Student Services to organize and supervise various cultural and social activities, on and off campus, for the students.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES1. Plans, implements and reviews a wide variety of campus activities to encourage student development, engagement and success in the areas of student life and volunteering.
2. Collaborates with the personnel of Student Services to ensure the functioning of all aspects of a variety of special projects including orientation, student volunteer fairs, leadership development initiatives, and the student mentorship programs.
3. Assists with the recruitment and training of student volunteers for campus life activities.
4. Works with student groups to promote and market student events.
5. Assures the proper set-up, take-down and safe use of equipment at campus activities.
6. Coordinates the recruitment, training and work of student volunteers, student mentors and student ambassadors on campus. Participates fully as a member of the Student Services team.
7. Liaise and work with other C\xc3\xa9gep partners such as RIASQ, WWF, QASAP, etc.N.B. This job requires some evening and weekend work.Requirements :Education
Must possess a diploma of college studies in an appropriate specialty such as Recreation, Intervention en loisirs or a diploma or an attestation of studies which is recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.Competencies
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
