Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Recreation Therapist to lead our team during a maternity leave. This role is key to delivering meaningful, therapeutic programs that support the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of our residents.

Qualifications:

Diploma or degree in Recreation Therapy from an accredited institution Valid First Aid/CPR and Class 4 Driver's License Preferably has minimum 3 years of related experience, including leadership/supervisory roles Familiarity with mental health populations Registration with ATRA Must have a valid Police Clearance with Vulnerable Sector Check, or be willing to obtain one prior to employment.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, coordinate, and evaluate recreation programs and special events Supervise Recreation Therapy staff and volunteers Collaborate with other departments to support resident mobility and engagement Manage departmental budget and grant proposals Maintain community partnerships and represent the facility professionally Ensure safety standards and participate in resident care planning
