Responsibilities

Design, coordinate, and facilitate engaging recreational programs that cater to residents' interests and medical conditions utilizing our mini wheelchair buses Assess residents' needs and preferences to develop personalized activity plans Collaborate with healthcare teams to integrate therapeutic activities into overall care plans Monitor and document residents' participation, progress, and responses to activities through accurate data collection Provide support for residents with dementia, senior care requirements, or psychological needs by adapting activities appropriately Educate staff and family members on the benefits of recreational therapy and involve them in activity planning when appropriate Maintain a safe environment during all activities, adhering to facility policies and safety standards Stay informed about best practices in recreation therapy, including case management techniques and medical terminology relevant to senior care

Experience

Prior experience working with seniors in assisted living or nursing home settings is highly desirable Knowledge of dementia care, and senior care best practices is preferred Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to elderly populations enhances effectiveness in this role Previous case management experience will be advantageous for coordinating care plans

Pay: $26.00-$30.00 per hour
