The Recreation Therapist will have overall responsibility for the recreation department. Working under the direction of the Site Leader, the successful incumbent will be responsible for leading and guiding the staff and for defining and maintaining the infrastructure necessary to support recreation programming for the residents. Works collaboratively with the healthcare team to support recreation & leisure programming for the residents.
Qualifications:

• Degree/diploma in Therapeutic Recreation is required (A specialty or major in gerontology is preferred)

• Current membership and registration with Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA)

• Minimum one (1) - two (2) years of Therapeutic Recreation experience

• Minimum one (1) - two (2) years of supervisory experience required

• Candidate must possess a valid Class 4 driver's license (travel involving transporting residents required)

• Ability to maintain good working relations with staff, public and outside agencies

• Flexibility with changes in the organization and maintain a positive outlook
