ABOUT YOU:
You have a passion for promoting the well-being, inclusion, and empowerment of individuals with developmental disabilities.
You excel at creating innovative, accessible recreational programs tailored to individuals' goals and abilities.
You have a degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, or a related field from a recognized institution.
You are registered with Therapeutic Recreation Ontario (TRO) or are eligible for registration.
You are knowledgeable about lifespan development, person-directed planning, and therapeutic interventions.
You have excellent interpersonal skills, including empathy, active listening, and the ability to build trust.
You thrive in a collaborative team environment and can adapt to changing priorities.
You are proficient in Microsoft Office and documentation systems.
You hold a valid G-Class driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle.
You can provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
YOU WILL:
Design, implement, and evaluate innovative recreational programs that foster physical, cognitive, and emotional growth.
Conduct assessments to develop individualized recreation plans and set person-directed goals.
Use evidence-based techniques to promote skill development, sensory integration, and socialization.
Collaborate with individuals, families, and interdisciplinary teams to create and monitor recreation plans.
Advocate for inclusion and accessibility, building strong relationships with community partners.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, progress notes, and participation.
Stay current on best practices, trends, and regulatory changes in recreational therapy.
Participate in team meetings, professional development opportunities, and community engagement initiatives.
Champion CLNP's mission, values, and strategic goals by fostering autonomy and life skills development.
Report to the Community Program Supervisor.
Compensation Details
Starting wage:
$30.48 per hour
(commensurate with experience).
Full-time hours with regular evening or weekend shifts as required.
