Willow Square is seeking a compassionate and skilled Recreation Therapist to join our Adult Day Program team, supporting older adults and individuals with cognitive or physical challenges. This active, hands-on role involves designing and leading therapeutic activities that foster social connection, physical wellness, and emotional well-being. Strong creativity, communication, and organizational skills are essential for developing engaging, person-centered programming. The therapist will also collaborate closely with home care staff to ensure continuity of care. Responsibilities include facilitating group and individual activities, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams, documenting participant progress, and performing lifting and movement as part of daily duties. We are looking for a passionate individual who is looking to make a meaningful impact through therapeutic recreation. Located within Fort McMurray which resides on Treaty 8 territory, and the lands of the Metis. Description:
As a Recreation Therapist I, you will be working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, providing comprehensive services for patients (clients, residents) within your assigned program or service area. You will ensure the level of therapeutic recreation practice is evidence based, patient-and family-centred, and in accordance with policies, procedures and standards of practice. You will complete assessment, treatment, education and management of clients treatment progress and provide clinical support and consultation. You will collaborate and communicate with the health care team and participate in patient rounds, family conferences and meetings as related to the client and family.
