The Recreation Manager plays a key leadership role in planning, organizing, and delivering high-quality recreation and leisure programs that promote the physical, social, and emotional well-being of residents. This position oversees the day-to-day operations of recreation services, leads a team of recreation staff and volunteers, and collaborates with healthcare and community partners to ensure meaningful, person-centered engagement for all participants.

Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and evaluate recreation programs that enhance quality of life, encourage participation, and reflect resident interests and abilities.
Supervise, train, and mentor recreation staff and volunteers, fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.
Coordinate special events, outings, and seasonal programs in alignment with facility and community goals.
Maintain compliance with organizational policies and provincial standards related to recreation and resident safety.
Manage department budgets, inventory, and scheduling to ensure effective use of resources.
Build strong relationships with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members to support holistic care.
Ensure all activities are inclusive, safe, and culturally sensitive.
Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, reports, and attendance records.

Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, or a related field.
Preferred:Membership or eligibility for membership with Therapeutic Recreation Manitoba or a related professional association.
Minimum 3 years of experience in recreation programming within healthcare, long-term care, or community settings.
Proven leadership, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Current First Aid/CPR certification.
Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office, recreation scheduling software, etc.).
