The Recreation Manager plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in dementia and alzheimers speciality home. Responsibilities
Design and implement engaging recreational programs tailored to the interests of residents.
Coordinate activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Assess residents' needs and preferences to create personalized activity plans.
Supervise staff and volunteers involved in recreational activities.
Foster a welcoming environment that encourages participation from all residents.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to integrate therapeutic activities into care plans.
Maintain records of participation and evaluate the effectiveness of programs.
Organize special events, outings, and community engagement opportunities.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations during all activities.
Qualifications
Experience in assisted living or nursing home environments is preferred.
Completion of a recognized Recreational Therapy Program
Background in senior care or caregiving is highly desirable.
Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities and dementia care practices.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
