This position is responsible for overseeing the activity department of the Foundation. The position requires not only planning and delivering daily activity programs but also overseeing activity staff and volunteers, coordinating with management team and other departments, and ensuring open communication with community organizations. It is a high-energy job that requires compassion and creativity. Candidates must be able to demonstrate professional, administrative, and supervisory duties with specialized knowledge required to work with seniors
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements:
Activity coordinator certificate or degree in therapeutic recreation - gerontology desired
Previous supervisory experience and experience working with seniors
Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels of staff, board members, families, and ability to liaise in the community.
Positive, energetic, and highly organized
Computer skills are also necessary for creating calendars, newsletters, correspondence with families and community members
Must have a valid driver's license and clear vulnerable sector criminal record
Must be a resident of Alberta
The position is a full-time position working Monday - Friday, weekends and evenings may also be required. Compensation will be dependent on experience. A complete job description is available upon request.
