Job Title: Recreation Leader - Preschool Programs (Winter Term)

Schedule Requirements:

Mondays, 11:00 AM - 12:15 PM

Fridays, 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM

Other availability within the week may be required

Commitment to 8 weeks of part-time employment starting in January 2026

Position Overview

Cole Harbour Place is seeking enthusiastic, responsible, and child-focused

Recreation Leaders

to support our winter preschool drop-off programs and other recreation-based activities. These programs provide active, play-based experiences for young children while parents participate in fitness or facility activities. Staff will work directly with children ages 2-5 and help deliver safe, structured, and engaging programming each week.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and engage preschool-aged children (ages 2-5) in structured play, sports activities, and creative movement. Oversee the children's portion of the

Strength Circuit for Parents

program, including drop-off at 11:00 AM and safe supervision until parent pickup at 12:15 PM. Lead or assist with preschool sport play during

Sport & Splash

, followed by supervising children during the tot-pool portion with aquatic staff. Create a positive, welcoming, and inclusive environment for both children and parents. Support transitions between rooms, activity areas, and the pool. Follow all Cole Harbour Place safety, communication, and emergency protocols. Handle set-up and clean-up of equipment and program spaces. Communicate with parents regarding questions, updates, or concerns.

Qualifications

Experience working with children ages 2-5 in recreation, childcare, day camps, early learning, or sport programs. Strong communication and customer-service mindset; comfortable talking with parents. Ability to lead engaging play-based activities and manage small groups. Comfortable working around aquatic environments (aquatic certifications an asset but not required). Standard First Aid/CPR (or willingness to obtain). Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to the program times listed above.
