Position Overview


As a Recreation Coordinator at Cabot Cape Breton, you will be responsible for curating engaging and memorable experiences for our guests. Your role involves planning and organizing a diverse range of recreational and leisure activities, catering to various interests and age groups. From outdoor adventures to cultural excursions and on-site events, you will create a vibrant and dynamic activity schedule. Your excellent communication skills will come into play as you interact with guests, ensuring they are informed about upcoming activities and facilitating their participation. Attention to detail, creativity, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences are key to success in this role. By coordinating enjoyable and enriching activities, you will contribute significantly to our guests' overall satisfaction and help create lasting memories during their stay at Cabot Cape Breton.

Guest Services Support:

Support Front Desk/ Guest Experience Team (when available) during peak business hours.


Preferred qualifications and skills:

Minimum 1 year experience in hotel or recreational related field. Post-secondary education in Hospitality, Sports, or Recreation an asset. CPR/AED & First Aid Certification preferred. Nova Scotia Driver's License (or equivalent) with a clean driving record. Knowledge of local area, events and activities considered an asset. Engaging communication skills. Able to quickly build relationships, influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Self-motivated with strong interpersonal and presentation skills Must have a strong attention to detail and coordinator skills, coupled with time management and organization. Computer skills (MS Office Suite) and data entry skills an asset Highly responsible & reliable.


Requirements of the role you should be aware of:

Based on the nature of our business and the service we provide to our guests, to work with us, you must consent to a criminal background check as a condition of employment and an additional criminal background check every two years. As a seasonal resort business, you can anticipate a schedule that will involve day, evening, night, and weekend work. Ability to spend long hours moving around, walking, sitting, standing and ascending or descending stairs, ramps, and other structures off-site Able to work both indoors and outdoors, during inclement weather Ability to spend long hours moving around, walking, sitting, standing, kneeling, reaching, or sweeping. Based on the nature of this position, you would experience long periods of guest interactions. There may be interactions with patrons who are impaired
