Recreation Assistant/ Facility Attendant This is a great position that works collaboratively with the recreation manager to enhance the recreational experience for all residents; and with other VOT staff to ensure recreation facilities are maintained to an optimum level. The Recreation Assistant/ Facility Attendant is a super important part of a super awesome team! Key responsibilities of the position are to deliver active and engaged programs for community members of all ages; monitor and oversee all indoor and outdoor recreation assets; perform custodial duties and ongoing facility maintenance; prepare facilities for scheduled events activities, and bookings; winter ice maintenance and year-round trail maintenance; and ensure procedures are followed to provide optimum efficiency and use of Village of Teslin Recreational Infrastructure. The successful candidate will be expected to work irregular hours, which may include evenings, weekends and holidays. He or she will be highly organized, energetic and motivated. Have fun being part of the best team in town The candidate must have, or be prepared to obtain, a number of the following licenses, certificates, or training: class 5 drivers license, first aid, food safe, and knowledge of current occupational health and safety regulations. Mandatory Vulnerable Sector RCMP check is required. Experience and interest in working with children and youth is required. Experience and/or interest in Rink ice maintenance and Zamboni operation is important. The desire to be a positive role model and lead a healthy lifestyle will make you a great fit.
