THE ROLE



The Recreation and Gym Services Attendant plays an important role for Personnel Support Programs (PSP). They are essential in maintaining operational facilities and providing friendly and welcoming membership services to our military members and their families.



Our services are tailored to help our military members and their families face some of the challenges that come with military life and help them make the most of everyday activities such as going to the gym or pool. We believe that when members of the Canadian Armed Forces are able to take good care of themselves and their families, they can do better both at home and at work. Whether families need to sign their kids up for recreational programs, improve their own fitness, or make friends in a new community, our services are here to help.



As a Recreation and Gym Services Attendant, each day is different. You will be responsible for maintaining and cleaning the pool, performing minor maintenance work as well as safety checks on the facilities and equipment, and ensuring their cleanliness. You will issue sports and recreation equipment and monitor its use. You will open, monitor and control access to the facilities in accordance with safety regulations. In addition, you will drive the Recreation Department's 24-passenger bus to transport customers of the various recreation classes (class 4B license required).

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses





High School Diploma and several years of experience in a related field



Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications



A valid driver's license (Quebec)


Experience





In cash handling



In office administration



In using software for word processing, spreadsheet, presentations, databases, e-mail and Internet browsing


Competencies





Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

OTHER INFORMATION



This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.


PSP:

Keep our Canadian Armed Forces operationally ready and their families and military community healthy as part of the team at Personnel Support Programs. Personnel Support Programs contributes to the operational readiness of our Canadian Armed Forces through the provision of fitness, sports, recreation and health promotion programs to military communities across Canada and members while on deployment.
