Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Recreation Aide to join our team in providing engaging activities and social opportunities for residents in a senior living or nursing home environment. The ideal candidate will support residents' well-being by facilitating recreational programs that promote physical, emotional, and social health. This role is vital in enhancing residents' quality of life through personalized care and meaningful interactions.

Duties

Plan, organize, and lead recreational activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities, including arts and crafts, games, music, and outings. Assist residents with participation in daily activities, ensuring safety and encouragement. Support residents with mobility, communication, and personal needs during activities. Foster a positive environment that promotes socialization and emotional well-being among residents. Collaborate with nursing staff and caregivers to coordinate activity schedules and address individual needs. Monitor residents' responses to activities and report any concerns or changes in behavior to the appropriate team members. Maintain activity supplies and ensure the activity area is clean and organized.

Skills

Experience working with seniors in assisted living or nursing home settings preferred. Background in senior care, dementia care, or working with people with disabilities is highly desirable. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents of varying cognitive and physical abilities. Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in improving residents' quality of life through recreational activities. Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team. Creativity in designing inclusive activities that cater to diverse needs and interests. Patience, empathy, and excellent interpersonal skills are essential for fostering a supportive environment.
