Job Title Reconciliation Specialist



What is the opportunity?

As a Reconciliation Specialist you will be responsible for accounts receivables in Insurance. You will provide accurate daily financial reconciliation between the RBC Insurance bank accounts, general ledgers and various administration systems along with documentation. In so doing, you will play a critical role in mitigating financial risk.

What will you do?

- Responsible for the timely and accurate reconciliation of designated RBCI bank accounts and all entries within these accounts.

- Responsible for completing the daily reconciliation from designated administration systems. This includes review of cash receipts, returned items, credit card payments, bank memos, PAC, telebanking/online payments, payments activity within RBC Express.

- Responsible for noting any variances or manual payments, investigating the cause of these variances and resolving them.

- Responsible for completing the month-end reporting to FSS of: all daily reconciliations by system; loan activity reporting for all systems; journal entries to transfer to various accounts, or offsetting GL accounts; and the review and clearance of items. This may include error logging and referrals to business partners.

- Maintain relationships with bank contacts, internal and external partners including CAS and FSS for all reconciliation and audit activities and assist partners with special/complex accounting inquiries, customer complaints and complex payments cases.

- Responsible for maintaining awareness and acting in accordance with RBC Risk Management policies of: Conduct; Privacy; Anti-Money Laundering; Anti-Terrorism; Clean Desk policy; Complaints Management; and Operational Loss reporting. Take action to immediately report to management any concerns with events or practices that could tarnish the RBC reputation.

What will you need to succeed?

- Expert financial acumen and knowledge and understanding of Basic Accounting Principles

- Experience with Life and Health administration systems including Ingenium, Bedrock, Broker Capsil, Career Capsil, Inspro and PasPort considered an asset

- Expert technical skills in the area of Excel, Outlook and Word

- Experience in a high volume/high intensity customer service environment and the ability to manage workload within specified timelines

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer service /back office environment, preferably in the financial or insurance field

- Post-secondary education (i.e. community college, university preferred), insurance courses (i.e. LOMA) is an asset
