The Centre for Natural Medicine is a naturopathic health and wellness clinic with services provided by 6 Naturopathic Doctors and 5 support staff. We are seeking a

Receptionist/Medical Office Assistant

to add to our team. 32-40 hours per week, weekdays and two Saturdays per month.

As a Receptionist/Medical Office Assistant you will play a significant role working in a team environment. The candidate must be very independent, have a highly motivated professional personality, and possess good interpersonal skills.

Duties Include:



First and foremost, present a positive and professional image of the medical office Greet, assist, and direct patients with a positive attitude Answer incoming calls and respond to telephone, fax, e-mail, and in-person inquiries Schedule and confirm appointments, provide billing receipts for patients Provide clerical support including electronic medical record system, handling confidential material and lab reports, performing repetitive tasks with consistent attention to detail Assist the doctors, at times acting as liaison between them and their patients Maintain the reception area in a tidy and presentable manner Prepare and maintain the treatment rooms Articulately explain procedures and protocols. Example: explain instructions for take-home test kits Ensuring all patients and visitors are receiving the utmost care and quality service Participating in other miscellaneous duties as assigned

About the Ideal Candidate:



Minimum 1 - 2 years experience in a receptionist/medical office assistant or similar Exceptional customer service and friendly demeanor is essential Ability to demonstrate discretion and maintain confidentiality Proficient in English Superior telephone manners and interpersonal skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system and other office equipment Proficiency in computer software applications including Microsoft Office(TM) software, ability to learn new software applications for billing and scheduling appointments Self-motivated, reliable, and strong ability to work independently and with others Able to work in an environment that requires a constant need of re-prioritizing duties. Working collaboratively with all team members Experience using EMR is an asset Looking for long term employment
