is an activity, social, and learning centre for older adults, located in the community of Killarney. We provide seniors' programs and services in a safe and inclusive environment. We are looking to hire a Receptionist/Office Assistant, starting August 1, 2025.
The Receptionist reports directly to the Executive Director, and is responsible for facilitating, overseeing, and coordinating various programs in line with the organizational goals.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Possesses good communication and assessment skills in working with seniors.
Is familiar with office procedures, has the ability to multi-task in a changing environment.
Is flexible and adapts to changes in policy, environment, and situation.
Works well independently or collaboratively as the situation demands.
Is amenable to work schedules that may vary from week to week.
Is sensitive and has respect for all individual differences, including differences of age, culture, sex, ethnicity, and socio-economic status.
Is comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.), is a strong writer, and can design tickets, pamphlets and posters.
Performs duties in a professional manner.
Highly organized, proficient in data management, ability to prioritize, and meet deadlines.
Proficient in computer skills needed to manage all aspects of the position.
Oversee and facilitate daily programs.
Writing reports, and maintaining records.
Handling cash and doing daily cashouts.
Is flexible to changing conditions, schedules, and demands.
Must be fluent in English, and have excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills in person, on the telephone. and via email.
Comfortable presenting to groups.
Sets up and takes down tables and chairs for events.
Has current First-Aid certificate.
Fulfilling other tasks as required by the Executive Director.
Understands and maintains confidentiality of information that is professionally acquired, including information received or observed about Staff, the Board, and Club Members.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Undergraduate courses in Human Support Services, Recreation and Leisure preferred, or a combination of post-secondary education and experience.
2+ years of experience working in programming for seniors.
Experience working in a not-for-profit organization, and interacting with Board of Directors.
WHAT WE OFFER
Permanent full-time: Mon-Fri, 9:00-3:30, 30 hrs/wk
$22/hr, paid bi-monthly
