Job Overview


We are a busy, fast-paced law firm practicing in

real estate

family law

, and

criminal defence

. We are seeking a reliable and professional

Receptionist

to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for clients and must be comfortable handling sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and professionalism.

While

experience

in

criminal defence, family law and/or real estate law

is preferred, it is

not required

. We welcome applicants with strong administrative skills who are eager to learn and grow in a legal setting.

Key Responsibilities



Greet and assist clients in person and over the phone. Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail and email. Schedule appointments and manage calendars for lawyers and legal staff. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk area. Handle clerical tasks including filing, typing, proofreading, and organizing documents. Provide customer support by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly. Assist with intake/file management from opening to completion. Communicate with clients, court staff, and counsel professionally.

Skills



Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Strong computer skills with experience in data entry Previous office experience is preferred; Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a busy environment. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for filing and documentation. Experience with multi-line phone systems is advantageous. Typing proficiency and strong proofreading abilities are essential.

Qualifications



Required:



Diploma or relevant post-secondary education. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. High level of discretion and confidentiality. Familiarity with court filing procedures and legal document preparation.

Preferred:



Experience with

DivorceMate

and

Closer

software. Prior experience in a law office, especially in real estate or criminal or family law
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.60 per hour
