We are a privately owned and local general contractor, specializing in road building and civil construction and have been operating in British Columbia for over 70 years. Jack Cewe Construction Ltd. (CEWE) provides all aspects of road construction including excavation, placing gravel, base and sub-base, underground utility installation, concrete slabs, sidewalks and curbs, and of course asphalt paving and milling.

CEWE is seeking a receptionist to join our team! You will have minimum 5 years' administrative experience in the construction industry.

Overview


We are seeking a professional and organized Receptionist/Administrative Assistant to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring smooth daily operations, providing excellent customer service, and supporting office management functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer literacy, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Front Desk & Communication



Greet and assist visitors, clients, subcontractors, and delivery personnel in a professional and courteous manner Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area

Administrative Support



Perform general office duties such as filing, photocopying, scanning, and data entry Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and courier deliveries Prepare outgoing mail and courier shipments Assist with document management, including contracts, invoices, and project files Coordinate departmental meetings, including preparing materials and ensuring smooth logistics for both in person and virtual setups Handle sensitive information with professionalism, confidentiality and discretion

Construction Office Support



Coordinate communication between office staff, site supervisors, and project managers Track and log site-related documents Assist with onboarding paperwork for new employees Maintain office supply inventory and place orders as needed Support office and company events when required

Skills



Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace applications Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively Excellent typing speed and data entry accuracy Previous clerical or administrative experience, preferably in construction or in related industry Customer service expertise with a friendly demeanor and professional phone etiquette Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously with strong time management skills Personal assistant experience or office experience that demonstrates reliability and professionalism
