Who we are looking for:



The ACSA Main Site Receptionist is the first point of contact for walk-in clients and phone calls so we are looking for a person with above average communication skills, exceptional organization and time management skills and the ability to juggle tasks in a busy environment.

About the role:



First point of contact for walk-ins and phone calls.

Handle and diffuse difficult situations.

Assist with screening, assessment and intake of new eligible clients and program participants.

Conduct in-person and telephone assessments for income tax service eligibility

Schedule appointments for clients according to approved protocols and practices and facilitate client appointments.

Gather statistics and enter into database.

Assign and set up new voicemail boxes for clients, maintain list of active voicemail boxes and collect outstanding fees. Be the main contact for the Toronto Voicemail Project.

Collect the mail from the mailbox and distribute according to procedures.

Maintain and administer client mail system.

Receipt donations according to instructions.

Facilitate room bookings.

Ensure the smooth flow of information from reception to the appropriate staff.

Provide administrative support to the managers as necessary.

Order supplies and maintain order lists as required.

Troubleshoot minor problems with the photocopier, printer, etc., follow preventative maintenance schedules and report any major problems to the Manager or designate.

Perform additional administrative tasks as required.

About you:



High school diploma and diploma in administrative field

One year of related experience; preferably in a Social Services environment

Awareness of, and sensitivity to, issues of poverty and homelessness particularly in a multicultural, multiracial community.

Above average communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure and in a busy environment.

Exceptional Customer Service Skills. Ability to diffuse volatile situations.

Demonstrated ability to pay attention to detail, meet deadlines, and prioritize workload.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Will be required to provide a police clearance.

Excellent computer, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Sheets.

Fluency in a second language is also an asset (Mandarin / Cantonese preferred).

Solid understanding of importance of confidentiality.

Full time employment with benefits after 6 months

3-week vacation, 15 sick days, 2 float days?

Salary range of $45,000 - $50,000
