Receiving, Warehouse & Truck Assistant

Job Description

To support ReStore operations by assisting with the safe and efficient receiving, organization, and preparation of donated items, and by providing assistance on the ReStore truck for pick-ups and deliveries. This role plays a key part in ensuring a positive donor and customer experience, maintaining a clean and organized warehouse, and representing Habitat for Humanity Thousand Islands in the community with professionalism and respect.

Job Requirements:



Must submit a Level 2 - Criminal Records and Judicial MattersCheck prior to employment, as per corporate policy. Steel-toed footwear required. Must be physically capable of lifting and moving heavy items (minimum 50 lbs). Valid G driver's license and clean driving record are assets. Forklift certification is an asset (training may be provided).

Duties and Responsibilities:



Receiving & Warehouse Operations:



Receive and process donations in a timely and courteous manner. Unload incoming donations and ReStore trucks safely and efficiently. Clean, test, price, and prepare items for placement on the sales floor. Organize and maintain inventory in the warehouse and receiving areas. Ensure accurate documentation of incoming donations and issue receipts when required. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Follow all health and safety practices and report any hazards or incidents immediately. Assist customers and volunteers courteously and professionally.

Truck & Donor Support:



Assist the ReStore Truck Driver with donation pick-ups, deliveries, and donor interactions. Safely load and unload furniture, appliances, and other donated items. Ensure the truck and equipment remain clean, organized, and in safe condition. Record donations on pick-up sheets and assist with donor receipts when required. Represent Habitat for Humanity Thousand Islands in a positive, courteous, and professional manner at all times.

Customer & Volunteer Engagement:



Provide friendly, helpful service to all donors, shoppers, and volunteers. Support volunteers in receiving and warehouse activities as needed. Promote Habitat for Humanity's mission and values through positive interactions and advocacy.

Other Duties:



Perform other tasks as assigned by the ReStore Manager or management team. Contribute to special events, sales, and community initiatives as needed.

Working conditions:



The ReStore operates

Monday to Saturday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

(shifts may vary). Work is primarily performed in warehouse and truck environments. Must be comfortable working in a physically demanding role and in varying weather conditions.

Physical Requirements:



Ability to stand for long periods, bend, and lift items weighing

up to 50 lbs

. Regular physical exertion is required for moving furniture, appliances, and building materials.

Direct Reports:



None. May assist in directing volunteers and community service participants as directed and delegated by management.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to $42,000.00 per year
