Full time, permanent, 6-days a week, Monday to Saturday, steady afternoon shift or and potentially extended hours depending on workload and priorities, which could include possible Sunday shifts (unless otherwise stipulated in offer of employment).

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:



Routinely monitor, verify and provide direction to Quality team on their accuracy of product grading, and inspection. Ensure all quality specifications are being utilized by employee's while performing inspections and communicate any variances or updates required for specifications. Ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures pertaining to receiving, storage, and grading of fresh produce. Identify any issues to management. Uphold the company standard of Food Safety and Environmental Health and Safety while identifying program/ process gaps and educating team members. Act as liaison between Receiving department and as the Lead Auditor/Inspector for inbound products. Ensure compliance with USDA and CFIA policies and procedures. Ensure completion of daily inspections and reporting on all arrivals (PO's and Receipts). Ensure continual communication with production, commodities and sales teams on arrival produce quality. Responsible for first contact audit with Receiving team + Taking products temperature, initial photos, overview of pallets coming off trucks
+ Identification and communication of any immediate conditional issues to appropriate stakeholders (Procurement, Commodities, etc.)
Responsible for directing the workflow for the Receiving Quality team and identifying priority PO's that are needed for Production, Shipping, etc., and organizing the team to ensure they are completed in an effective and timely manner while providing coverage within the Quality Department as needed. Help procure, provide and lead organization of samples for CFIA or USDA inspectors. Any additional tasks as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



Minimum 1 year of experience within the Produce industry. Must have strong time management skills with emphasis on meeting deadlines. Comfortable working in fast paced environment. Strong leadership skills and dispute resolution experience. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Experience working with CFIA considered an asset. Secondary language skills are considered an asset.

Physical Abilities:



Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs. Must be able to lift material regularly up to 14 kg / 30 lbs; and occasionally up to 23 kg / 50lbs. Must be able to climb stairs and stand on feet for extended periods of time. Must be able to work in a temperature-controlled environment of approximately 10 ?C / 50 ?F.
