What is the opportunity?
IMS currently has an opening for an energetic individual to join our Receiving Department in the role of Receiving Clerk. If you have experience working with electronics parts, experience in ERP systems, Excel and Word, and enjoy structured work that relies on your keen attention to detail, we want to hear from you! An ideal candidate is someone who likes to keep a steady pace, is reliable (will be at work on time and every day), brings a positive attitude to all they do, and collaborative spirit by looking at processes and offering solutions to become more efficient and productive.
Schedule:
Five (5) days per week, Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, (8-hour shifts per day), two (2) paid 15-minute breaks and one (1) unpaid 30-minute lunch break
Job Summary
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for assisting the Supervisor with the daily operations of the receiving department to ensure accurate and efficient processing of incoming shipments. This role ensures compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and quality expectations. The Receiver collaborates with the Receiving Team, Purchasing, Inventory, and other logistics functions to maintain an organized and effective supply chain.
Primary Responsibilities
Ensure accurate inspection, verification, and documentation of incoming goods.
Monitor unloading of trucks and proper storage of items received.
Maintain up-to-date records of deliveries and inventory discrepancies.
Communicate with vendors and/or internal departments regarding shipment issues
Enforce safety, cleanliness, and organizational standards within the receiving area.
Train co-workers on processes and policies of the department and company
Coordinate with Stockroom personnel to manage stock levels and space optimization.
Operate and oversee the use of warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, parts counter, etc).
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory guidelines
Verify customer consigned kits and report to Sales with any discrepancies
Distribute received parts or consigned kits to either the production floor or upstairs to the stockroom
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Must be able to speak, read, and write fluent English
Ability to identify various electronic components
Intermediate computer skills in Excel, Word and ERP Inventory System
Knowledge and use of inventory software, barcode/RFID systems and any warehouse management systems
Excellent communication skills with coworkers, couriers, customers and managers
Displays patience in daily duties and works to meet daily priorities and deadlines
Excellent organizational skills
Precision and accuracy in work habits - this position requires attention strong to details
Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 pounds, walk up and down stairs carrying product and parts, load and maneuver a pallet jack, lift and handle wooden pallets
Forklift certification is a plus
Past experience is an asset
Working Conditions
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment, which includes a certain degree of exposure to various chemicals and fumes. Work can involve lifting of materials and product up to 50 lbs. and requires frequent carrying of product up and down stairs. Responsibilities may also require employee to stoop, kneel, crouch or climb up to a 3-step ladder. It will require employee to use a pallet jack, dolly, carts, and fork lift. All machinery operation requires the user to be trained all safety standards, and certification is required to operate the Forklift. Employees should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and changing priorities on short notice.

Further details:
Those who apply should have their own transportation and be able to arrive to work on time. Bus routes are limited in the early morning and late evening hours.
The Receiving Department at IMS is not a large warehouse environment. If you are looking for a large warehouse position,this is not a good fit for you. Forklift operation is minimal for this position.
