RECEIVER



Job Purpose:



The Receiver is responsible for the day-to-day receiving operations in our manufacturing facility--accurately verifying, safely handling, and properly recording all inbound materials. This role supports the continuous flow of inventory across the plant and proactively assists the Quality team by moving materials to inspection areas, with particular care for fragile items such as glass. The ideal candidate is organized, hands-on, and self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision while upholding safety, accuracy, and efficiency standards.

Role & Responsibilities:



Oversee Material Receiving Activities:



Ensure materials arriving on-site match purchase orders in quantity, type, and condition as well as inspection reports. Coordinate with QC to conduct thorough inspections of incoming shipments for damage and accuracy, escalating issues promptly when discrepancies arise. Operate equipment such as dollies, pallet jacks, and company forklifts to move inventory safely throughout the facility. Coordinate with the maintenance team to report and facilitate routine maintenance of receiving equipment and area. Coordinate with the Warehouse team to replenish inventory/bins and feed the production lines. Empty warehouse bins. Support Warehouse teams when necessary to complete routine cycle counts or support inventory audits to ensure data integrity and support supply chain objectives. Assist Quality team to move inventory to perform quality inspections.

Maintain Comprehensive Documentation:



Organize and update all incoming records and files.

Compliance & Safety:



Enforce safety standards, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and OSHA regulations within the receiving area. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.

Required Skills and Experience:



Minimum of 3 years' experience in receiving and warehouse environments. Minimum of 3 years' experience operating a forklift. Valid forklift certification. Proficiency in operating material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies). Experience in handling fragile materials (including small and large pieces of glass). Familiarity with ERP and Warehouse Management Systems is a strong asset. Skilled in using common computer software (e.g., MS Office, inventory management systems). Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and under minimal supervision. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of "respect leadership" toward staff. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records and ensure operational efficiency.

Education:



Post secondary diploma or equivalent. Strong reading comprehension, basic arithmetic proficiency. Ability to read and interpret prints/drawings and tape measures.
