Job Overview

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated School Program Staff to join our team in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for children. You MUST hold you Early Childhood Education certificate, Child and Youth Worker certificate or Rec and Leisure certificate. This role involves working closely with students to support their holistic development and foster a love for learning. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and experience working with children. You will plan meaningful activities and experiences for children 4-12 years of age in a before and after school setting. Our location has one kindergarten program and two school age programs. This is a split shift role. Hours could be anywhere between 6:30 am-9:30 am and 3:00-6:00 pm. With the possibility of returning earlier for lunch coverage if needed.

Duties

Assist in the planning and implementation of educational programs and activities. Serve a nutritious snack in the morning and in the afternoon Walk to Ganaraska Trail Public School and/or St. Anthony's Catholic school to drop off and pick up children. Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that encourages children's participation and engagement. Monitor children's progress and provide feedback to educators and parents as necessary through Class Dojo Collaborate with other educators to develop curriculum materials and resources. Maintain a clean and organized classroom space conducive to learning. Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities

Skills

Strong ability to educate and inspire children through engaging teaching methods. Prior experience working with children in a child care setting is essential. Background in early childhood education is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff. Patience, creativity, and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students. Strong organizational skills to manage classroom activities effectively. Cleanliness

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.24 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 35 per week
