About the Role
Westport Daycare, a licensed child care centre in Ontario, is seeking an experienced Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) with proven leadership and supervisory experience. This Ministry-supported turnaround role is ideal for a dynamic professional who excels at coaching teams, ensuring compliance, and improving early years programming.
This is a dual-capacity role:
Supervisor Consultant
to guide the licensee in achieving full compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014*.
Mentor
to the current site supervisor to build sustainable leadership within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily on-site supervision to oversee compliance efforts
Provide expert operational guidance to the licensee
Mentor and coach the current supervisor in:
Program planning and execution
Staff supervision and engagement
Classroom quality and safety
Facilitate centre-wide training on:
Positive child guidance and self-regulation
Prohibited practices and serious occurrences
Health & safety, individualized support plans, and policies
Maintain thorough written records of mentoring, coaching, and training
Liaise with the Ministry of Education and submit updates as required
Qualifications
Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE)
in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
5+ years of recent supervisory experience
in a licensed child care setting
Specialized training in child care supervision, leadership, or early childhood administration
Strong understanding of Ontario's Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014* Experience coaching or training staff in compliance-driven environments
Must be available to begin within 2 weeks of offer and commit to full-time on-site leadership
