We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) to join our team. We are seeking someone with a background and experience working with children and families. The ideal candidate with have experience working in a licensed child care facility, have an understanding of CCEYA, How Does Learning Happen and ELECT. They will be dedicated to providing the best possible early learning environment to all children. They will have excellent communication skills, work well with families and as part of a team.
This position is part time with no full time options. We are a half day preschool with half days of work on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, full days on Tuesday and Thursday.
Hourly pay, plus monthly bonus, Christmas bonus, health care stipend in place of benefits paid out yearly.
Duties
Develop and implement age-appropriate educational programs that promote physical, emotional, and social development.
Provide a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children to explore and learn.
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster strong relationships.
Observe and assess children's progress, documenting their development and sharing insights with parents.
Collaborate with other educators to create a cohesive learning experience.
Lead activities that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills among children.
Support children with special needs by adapting programs to meet their individual requirements.
Maintain accurate records of children's attendance, progress reports, and incident reports.
Stay current with best practices in early childhood education through ongoing professional development.
Some workshops, evening meetings will be required.
Cleaning, prepping and preparing materials is required.
Qualifications
A diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education/RECE is required and must be in good standing with the College of ECE.
First Aid and CPR-C
Up to date immunization records are required
QCCN
Vulnerable sector police clearance required
Proven experience working with children in a childcare setting preferred
Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are an asset.
Experience working with children from varying backgrounds and with children who have special needs
A genuine passion for educating young children and fostering their development.
