We are seeking a responsible, organized, and English-proficient
Designate Supervisor
to support our licensed daycare center. This individual will act in the capacity of the Supervisor during periods of absence and ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality care, adherence to licensing regulations, and a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for children.
Key Responsibilities:
Assume the responsibilities of the Supervisor in their absence, ensuring the smooth daily operation of the center.
Ensure compliance with all Ministry of Education and Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) requirements.
Provide leadership, guidance, and support to staff, students, and volunteers.
Maintain accurate daily records including attendance, incident reports, and communication logs.
Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, addressing concerns professionally and promptly.
Ensure all safety, hygiene, and emergency procedures are followed consistently.
Support staff with programming and curriculum implementation aligned with emergent and play-based learning philosophies.
Model positive behavior management and inclusive practices in the classroom.
Report any issues or concerns to the Supervisor or Director in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
Early Childhood Education (ECE) Diploma or equivalent (must be recognized by the College of Early Childhood Educators - CECE).
Registered and in good standing with the CECE.
Minimum [1-2] years of experience in a licensed childcare setting.
Demonstrated ability to lead and support a team in a childcare environment.
Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills in English.
Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
Up-to-date Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), How Does Learning Happen? (HDLH), and related regulations.
Ability to work flexible hours, as needed.
