You love working with children and aspire to help them grow and develop. You are also motivated to provide the best care and education tailored to their specific stages of development.

You are open to guidance from team leaders and supervisors, who offer clear instructions and structured environments. We are looking for a program teacher who is a team player and who works well with other team members.

Your Responsibilities to Promote 'Late-Stage' Development:
Create a safe and nurturing environment for the Children in your care.
Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children always.
Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans and activities
with modifications using Universal Design for Learning. This will involve activities that foster independence and critical thinking. The curriculum will be uniquely challenging to stimulate their problem-solving skills..
Provide guidance as children develop essential life skills:
Be attentive with the children and encourage their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. You must create an environment that can promote skills such as fairness, time management, responsibility, and self-regulation.
Be able to work in a fast-paced environment!
Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians,
including the ability to handle difficult conversations and discuss children's developmental progress.
Keep accurate records of daily activities and behavior.
Create and implement Individual Support Plans when required
and can advocate for children's individual needs.

Requirements
Not a student
Fluent in English (oral and writing)
Technical Training and Experience Requirements
Membership in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (ECE's only) * Child and Youth Practitioners are welcome to apply * Have a minimum 2-year employment experience working with Kindergartner and School-Age children in a group setting
Experienced in using ELECT and "How Does Learning Happen?" in Emergent Curriculum planning
All necessary qualifications and credentials as required by the Ministry of Education
Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C/AED Certification
Please note
Full time position are for a split shift as it is a Before & After School Care Program.
