Job Summary
The Real Estate Specialist supports the property team in their efforts to manage the overall property portfolio across the Country, reporting directly to the Sr Director Real Estate Development. This individual will also be responsible and accountable for various residential real estate transactional projects with assistance, as required, from the real estate team. The position is accountable to the Director of Leasing and required to assist in commercial leasing activities from an administrative perspective.
Key AccountabilitiesCommercial leases: Assists with the processing of all TSA internal/external commercial lease renewals, extensions, new lease proposals and lease terminations.
Completion of Lease Summary and Lease Abstracts and upload and updating Sharepoint/Archibus
Secures Governing Council signatures (in person and/or DocuSign) and approvals for any real estate transactions.
Works collaboratively as part of the Property and real estate team to serve the needs of the Divisions, SM and MU leads, at times, could be the initial point of contact to either redirect or respond to urgent or pressing matters requiring immediate attention.
Prepares and distribute correspondence for routine or general matters (i.e. Planning inquires) on behalf of the Property Team and provide general administrative support as needed to the Senior Director, Real Estate Development
Ensures the on-going maintenance of internal client and relevant documentation is in electronic and hard copy format, as required.
Responsible for keeping up to date spreadsheets for tracking work in progress, completed, analytics, Sharepoint and Archibus for real estate files
Responsible for residential real estate transactions, with assistance of the Real Estate Manager and/or Senior Director, Real Estate Development, as required
Co-ordinates the work of internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues in specialized areas (e.g. due diligence fore real property (appraisal, home inspections, etc.; ensures consistent communication to all stakeholders (realtors, lawyers, internal teams).
Ensures all stakeholders are in compliance with Real Estate policies, corporate delegation approvals, financial schemes and any other Policy or process applicable to real estate transactional management
Education and Experience QualificationsCompletion of a formal post-secondary/college program of three academic years in real estate, business administration or a related field.
A minimum of five (5) years of related experience in a corporate Head Office in a real estate related environment.
Experience in working in a real estate environment and direct responsibility in assisting with completing real estate residential real estate transactions and/or commercial leasing activities.
Knowledge of Property Management/real estate Software.
Excellent computer system skills - Microsoft Office, databases, Archibus property management software.
Understanding and working knowledge of real estate terminology and types of agreements (listings, agreements of purchase and sale, waivers, amendments, closing documents, etc.)
Effective in both written and oral communication, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to facilitate training.
Highly organized, self-motivated, and adaptable, able to work independently while meeting deadlines and following procedures.
Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $55,693.49 to $69,616.86 with a maximum of $83,540.23.
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
