Lakefield LLP is a Saskatchewan team with a modern take on law. We currently have an opening for a Real Estate Assistant. You will be responsible for handling transactions related to residential, commercial and farmland properties, as well as commercial lending, refinances, and personal property registrations. Essential Job Functions

• Receiving and reviewing conveyancing instructions from real estate agents and financial institutions
• Opening files
• Due diligence searches
• Drafting all documents required for real estate transactions including but not limited to transfer documentation, mortgage documentation, Statement of Adjustments, discharge documents
• Written and oral communications with clients, lenders, real estate agents and other law firms
• Registration of documents at Information Services Corporation of Saskatchewan
• Preparing reporting packages to clients and lenders
• Utilizing firm specific software
• Handling large monetary transactions
• Perform related clerical duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems, faxing, telephone calls, and photocopying
• Provide additional clerical and administrative support as required

Education/Experience Requirements

• Minimum Education: Legal Assistant Diploma or Certificate from recognized educational institution.
• Minimum Experience: 1+ years experience in a directly related position.

Other Skills/Abilities

• Computer knowledge in industry software applications such as Microsoft Office programs, conveyancing software, and Information Services Corporation of Canada
• Experience with Acumin would be considered as asset
• Autonomy to work with little supervision
