Primary Responsibilities:



Review and interpret title opinions, off-title searches, and related documentation, applying underwriting principles to process residential title insurance requests. Investigate and resolve underwriting matters, including title and off-title issues, and support fraud mitigation by conducting risk assessments and determining insurability Evaluate risks associated with insuring real estate transactions according to company guidelines. Provide timely responses to clients and internal inquiries on common underwriting issues, offering guidance on the real estate process and title insurance coverage throughout Canada. Manage a large volume of files efficiently, meeting tight deadlines and maintaining compliance with company standards. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by addressing inquiries and resolving any concerns. Respond and manage client service calls through the underwriting phone queue. Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as required or assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to the overall goals of the team and organization.

Qualifications:



Law Clerk designation from an accredited community college. Minimum 5 years of residential real estate experience with a law firm or title insurance setting. Thorough knowledge of residential real estate practices, with a strong understanding of title issues and their resolution. Familiarity with real estate fraud trends, recognition of fraud red flags, and experience with fraud mitigation tools. Strong ability to interpret and apply current legal terminology. Experienced self-starter with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent multi-tasking, organizational, and time management skills, including attention to detail and the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines. Proven customer service experience. Highly professional with a customer service focus. Strong analytical skills and the ability to problem-solve with minimal direction. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Flexible team player who works well under pressure with minimal supervision to meet tight deadlines. Advanced computer skills, including thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office, Teraview, Conveyancer, and eConveyance.

Willingness and ability to work a 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm(EST) shift.

Ability to work overtime.
