Real Estate Law Clerk

Overview

Elston Camp is a solicitor practice with a significant real estate workload. We require an experienced clerk with the technical ability and judgement to manage residential, commercial, and private lending files from opening to completion. The role demands accuracy, strong organization, and the ability to operate independently within a busy and professional environment.

Responsibilities

Manage purchase, sale, refinance, and private mortgage files from initial instructions through to closing and final reporting. Conduct title searches and off title enquiries and prepare clear and accurate requisitions. Prepare all real estate documentation including DRAs, undertakings, statements of adjustments, trust ledgers, and closing packages. Prepare and register instruments in Teraview including transfers, charges, discharges, and postponements. Liaise professionally with clients, lenders, mortgage brokers, realtors, and opposing counsel. Coordinate closing logistics and resolve issues with sound judgement and efficiency. Prepare final reporting letters for clients and lenders. Maintain organised files within Unity, Teraview, and related platforms.

Qualifications

Minimum five years of dedicated Ontario real estate experience in a solicitor practice. Advanced proficiency in Unity, Teraview, lender portals, and Microsoft Office. Strong communication and the ability to meet time sensitive deadlines. Evidence of independent file management and consistent attention to detail. Experience with private mortgages or commercial transactions is an asset.

Compensation

Commensurate with experience. Competitive and reflective of senior level responsibility.

Work Environment

Full time. In office. Monday to Friday. Professional, focused, and organised practice with an emphasis on efficiency and consistent file completion.
