Mills & Mills LLP is seeking a qualified associate with strong Residential Real Estate experience to join its Real Estate group! The successful candidate will have 2+ years of experience practicing in real estate law and a desire to learn and to contribute to the success of our team.

Purpose of the Role

The successful candidate has experience, is confident and organized, possesses excellent communication and drafting skills, and takes pride in the quality of their work. We pride ourselves in providing excellent service to our clients, while being a comfortable and rewarding place to practice law.

As an associate at Mills & Mills you will be mentored by senior partners and other experienced practitioners, while you assist in the areas of residential real estate law. As a member of our team, you will be given the tools and encouragement to grow your own practice while also being part of and having the support of lawyers and staff from the real estate group and other practice areas of our firm.

Key Responsibilities

Managing all aspects of Residential Real Estate files Full Client and transaction management Drafting and registering documents in Teraview Communicating with financial institutions, government agencies, clients, and lawyers Engaging in file management (e.g., providing instructions to administrative assistants and clerks on opening files, file reviews, reporting to clients, undertakings, closing files, etc.) Drafting, editing, and responding to emails, correspondence, memoranda, reports, etc. Other duties as assigned.

Education/Skills, Knowledge and Abilities/Attributes

Minimum 2-year post-call Real Estate Law experience (at least a 2022 call) with the confidence and the desire to manage your own practice and expand your skills. A keen understanding of Real Estate transactions Experience with software: Unity, Teraview, Conveyancer, Excel, Acumin, Word and Outlook Ability to work well under pressure, manage priorities and meet deadlines. Exceptional client management skills, trustworthy, accountable, proactive and with a positive work attitude
