About the role:

In our Research & Development team focuses on the ideation, design, prototyping, and manufacturing transfer of cutting-edge devices for use in medical procedures. As an R&D Technician, you will develop creative test scenarios in order to stress test systems and software, read and execute test protocols for our latest cardiovascular technology.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Beta test software systems to aid the development team to ensure quality product is released.
  • Record and track defects in a bug tracking system.
  • Execute manual/automated test cases to ensure the design meets the requirements.
  • Document test results and participate in engineering report development.
  • Read and understand electrical/electronic schematics for the purposes of building, evaluating, testing, troubleshooting and repairing boards (through-hole and surface mount) and cabling.
  • Participate in electrical/electronic prototype development.
Required qualifications
  • DEC or degree in electro-technical, electronic or related field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in a team environment.
  • An analytical and quantitative approach to work.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Good documentation skills.
  • Experience operating hand and power tools, soldering and fault-testing equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 0 - 2 years of experience in the medical device industry.
  • Good surface mount hand soldering skills.
  • Working knowledge of electronic circuits.
  • Knowledge of automation tools and processes.
