You will operate under general supervision but will have a reasonable amount of discretion to take independent action. The overall goal of your responsibilities is to define and develop the next-generation software, architecture, and tools for Ansys and its customers, with the clear intent of leap-frogging the competition.Ansys is the world leader in engineering simulation. Up to 80% of the cost of a product\'s development is determined by the decisions you make early in the design process, and Ansys helps its customers reduce this cost with physical simulation tools to make better decisions quicker. Customers use Ansys simulation products to digitally explore design concepts and test critical design choices early in the product life cycle.ResponsibilitiesDesign, code, test, document, implement, and maintain software components and systemsComfortable contributing to (and learning where necessary) anywhere within the full software stack (API design, database implementation, business logic, etc.)Improve software development processes with tools and best practicesPerform basic bug verification, release testing and support. Investigate problems discovered by QA or support and develop solutionsMinimum QualificationsBS in computer science or equivalent software programming related program programming related programExperience with modern programming languages, preferably C# or C++, including object-oriented programming principlesStrong understanding of data structures and algorithmsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsDriven and willing to learnEffective verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed teamPreferred QualificationsKnowledge of or experience with CAEKnowledge of or experience with CUDA/GPU programmingKnowledge of or experience of agile development processesKnowledge of or experience with DevOps processes and toolsKnowledge of or experience with full life-cycle software engineering practices including packaging, coding standards, unit/system/integration testing, source control management, and operationsAbility to work independently and manage one\'s timeAt Ansys, we know that changing the world takes vision, skill, and each other.
